    ept apprentices abroad

The E.U.´s Program for Education, Training, Youth and Sports - Erasmus+

ept is a globally active company with locations in Germany, the Czech Republic, the U.S., and China. Because of this, it is important for apprentices as well as employees to gain international work experience. The local vocational school in Schongau, Germany has been offering its apprentices in commercial and business training the opportunity to take part in the Erasmus+ program for several years now. ept GmbH apprentices have also regularly participated in the program since 2014.

Erasmus+ is a mobility project that allows apprentices to go to school or work in England for three weeks. ept frees the apprentices from their work obligations during this period, and also takes on half of the costs incurred. ept naturally makes sure that the apprentices are prepared for the experience prior to their departure.

Their first week abroad is dedicated to attending a language school in London. At this school, they concentrate on improving their English language skills, which in turn makes it easier for them to interact with their English peers. During the second and third weeks of the program, they complete an internship at a selected company – they rotate through various company divisions or are even integrated into ongoing projects. This experience provides the apprentices with the perfect opportunity to become better acquainted with international workflows and, above all, the English language.

The apprentices can speak about their experiences and present their project results at a closing event after their three-week stay in England. As a final touch, each apprentice receives a Europass Mobility certificate. The ept apprentices who have taken part in Erasmus+ so far greatly enjoyed the program and gained a great deal from their time abroad.
