On track for the future. 36 apprentices start their new careers at ept!

Fresh out of school and straight to work: 36 young women and men are finally beginning the next chapter of their lives with an apprenticeship at ept. It all started on 1 September 2017. The new apprentices attended their first event together, where they were greeted by their instructors and HR Manager Joachim Ruber. After a tasty snack and a first, nervous round of introductions, the apprentices quickly got down to brass tacks. The new group was presented with all of the important information about their programs, including ept’s expectations and general information about the start of their training. They were then passed on to their individual instructors who finally introduced them to their departments and future colleagues.

A total of 21 toolmakers, three industrial management assistants, two surface coaters, one IT specialist for systems integration, two mechatronic technicians, one process mechanic for plastics and rubber technology, one storage logistics specialist and two technical product designers began their ept apprenticeship training at one of the ept facilities in Peiting and Buching, respectively. One retrainee and one intern who passed an entry qualification examination are among the new group. In addition, three of the new apprentices will be taking advantage of the dual study program to combine their apprenticeship with a Bachelor of Engineering degree. By the end of their apprenticeship training, they will be able to benefit from two valuable qualifications.
In 2017, ept had exactly 106 apprentices. In 2016, that number was 100. With a hiring rate of nearly 100 percent, ept is providing valuable training for a future generation of specialists.

ept ensures that its apprentices are able to transition smoothly into their careers and integrate themselves into the ept community. At the upcoming introductory weekend, the new apprentices and their instructors will strengthen the group dynamic by traveling to Scheidegg where they will work together to solve challenges. “Our introductory weekend is always a hit with the new apprentices. They have the chance to get to know each other better and practice working as a team while exercising their creativity,” says Heide Ramminger, instructor at ept. Both the apprentices and their trainers are looking forward to the group experience.
